Why are Nokian boots better?

Each boot is individually hand-made from start to finish, and assembled from about 20 separate components. Natural rubber is the main raw material and ensures that each Nokian boot is hard wearing and able to withstand a wide range of temperatures, much more so than cheaper, mass-produced synthetic boots.

How do I look after my Nokian boots?

Nokian recommend that you wash them after use with lukewarm soapy water and a soft sponge (never solvents or a harsh brush). Allow the boots to dry at room temperature. Store them standing up in a cool place sheltered from strong light or from direct sunlight. From time to time, your Nokian boots will benefit from treatment with Nokian Rubber Boot Conditioner.

Mind you, we don’t look after ours quite so well but they still last a very long time and look great.

Are Nokian boots made by Nokia?

They used to be the same company. Nokia decided to focus on telecommunications and split the rubber businesses off in 1990.

The company took on the brand Nokia over 100 years ago, after the name of the Finnish town where the rubber factory is.
